Noah had always been an avidly active person. Whether it had been long walks at home, rounding up some of the horses or cattle in a trip that easily took several days, swimming (or dabbling in the river) when there was enough water, playing soccer with his dad or his brother... He'd never been bored for long, and 'action' and 'adventure' just seemed to be something he got himself automatically involved in. And with Jay here too, he didn't have much choice. The dog too was used to spending a lot of energy per day, energy he couldn't get rid of cooped up in an apartment somewhere. So Noah had taken up running again. Well, mostly again. It'd taken some time to get the necessary 'tools' for it, because after all you couldn't buy the right legs in just any store, and his normal legs weren't that great for any considerable time or distance to run, but well. Now they were here and he had practiced a few times in the gym, though... Well, that and the bundle of energy that couldn't sit still in his room had been enough to convince him to try. Although the forest trails seemed to be more enchanting, but he figured he'd try the back roads first. Perhaps smart not to start with something to challenging, after all. He'd been 'bold' enough to park his car at the side of the road, changing legs and getting the dog before taking off at an agreeable pace, dog jumping up and down around him, whining to go faster. But not just yet. Only when he had found his rhythm did he lengthen his strides a little, unconsciously smiling widely as he let a bit of the leash slip. As it was an official road, as far as he could tell, he decided to keep the dog on it. Better not to take any risks, after all. He didn't want Jay to end up under a car. He even started to whistle a little under his breath, silently berating himself for forgetting his iPod. Well, better luck next time. ... and the wind out of Africa Words;; Too lazy to count |
