Hey all!
Late notice I know! But
As the title says I am going to be away from January 8-14th. I am going to Denver, Colorado, from Nevada, to help/work at/volunteer for the Western National Round Up. This is a huge 4-H and FFA youth national competition where over 1,000 youth from across the country (and Canada) come to compete. This will be the fourth year I've helped with this event and I have to admit its one of the things I look forward to each year.
I will have internet access and my laptop, but I am going to be so busy I more than likely will not be able to actually get online to do anything for myself for that week. We typically are working from 6 or 7am until 12 or 1am. We pretty much help make sure the entire event runs smoothly from making sure the contest's judges have anything and everything they need, to directing the youth to where they need to be, when they need to be there, to set up/tear down of rooms/equipment/facilities. It is a busy, busy, busy week, but worth it in the end.
Some of the contests are held at the National Western Stock Show (mostly the horse and livestock judging events) so we even travel between the hotel(s) and the NWSS. One of the perks is that we do get to have a little bit of down time to attend the NWSS too which is a fun experience. I'm staying over Monday specifically so I can watch the freestyle reining invitational again this year.
That's my novel but the short of it is I'm going to be out of town for a week, and it will be very unlikely that I'll be on or around much (if at all!)
Take care!
