For once in his life, Adam was genuinely excited. He could feel it, the thrill that ran up and down his spine as he threw open the door to the large black Chevy truck and jumped out onto the asphalt parking lot, slamming the door shut behind him after a small, furry black and white border collie jumped out after him, trotting along on his heels. In the back of the truck lay two large suitcases and a couple of bags, stuff to the brim with his belongings. The smell of horse greeted him as he glanced toward the main stables, inhaling deeply the smell that had become his home. It was truly glorious. He had dreamed of Hollow Aspen frequently in his journey from Texas, yet finally being here the large estate lived up past his expectations. He was in awe that someone finally wanted him here, instead of the other way around. The familiar cries of a horse-his horse- greeted his ears and he turned, heading toward the large silver horse trailer hooked up to his truck. He quickly snatched the silver lead rope from the truck bed and went to unlatch the trailer door. It fell onto the asphalt with a dull clang as he lowered it down, and then he was met with the sight of his black thoroughbred.[/color]
The hotheaded beast tossed his head into the air, brown eyes flaring with enthusiasm and excitement as he danced around on his large black hooves. Adam smiled then, speaking softly to the large animal as he drew closer, snatching his silver halter and attaching the matching lead line. He led the powerful stallion from the trailer then, his hooves clicking against the asphalt as he trotted around in nervous circles and then broke into a canter, trying to run off his energy. Instantly Adam moved to slow the horse. The stallions shoes would be slippery on the cement, and he slowed him carefully and cautiously." Easy there, Cobalt." He told the black stallion, his hand going to his shoulder to help steady the horse. He quickly re-latched the trailer and locked the car before clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth, signaling Cobalt forward. The stallion came obediently enough, yet still frisked about and tossed his head, snorting and pulling against the lead.
They reached the main stables quickly, the large stallion moving between fast walking and trotting. Adam smiled at the big horse affectionately, leading him with a gentle hand toward the stalls. He didn't really know where it was, but the name plaque would surely give it away. He went over the information he had been told in his head. Farrier Schedule B, Team Cohaero, Registered Number .oo38. He smiled slightly as he thought of his Team. He hadn't met anyone from it yet, but he was looking forward to it. He was familiar with team work, having played a wide variety of sports in his life, but it had never been with horses, the most important thing in his life now. By his side, the border collie puppy yipped happily, her tail wagging a mile a minute as she pranced around, sniffing every and any where possible. He grinned at the spontaneous puppy before calling her over to him."Here Blake, C'mon here girl." He told the small border collie, and after a moment of hesitation she bounded over.
After walking down the stable isle for a bit he finally found the large stall that had been set aside for Cobalt. In big letters the word Panther's Pandemonium was scrawled across a silver plaque. the stall was more than large enough for two horses, and Adam grinned at the comfort Cobalt would experience. Fresh straw was laid out for the stallion as well, the yellow strands crisp and unused. Adam leaned down and grabbed Blake's leash before clipping it to her and tying her to Cobalt's stall, keeping her under control while he took care of Cobalt. He led the stallion into the box and unclipped the lead line, tying it around the stall bars before running his hand over the stallions velvety muzzle. He continued to do this for a few minutes before he turned and headed off to find the horse feed.
