[/IMG] Jude led his tall black mare down the isle. Today was his first day here at the school and he wanted to get Ebony settled in to her new home. The stable floor was perfectly swept clean and the thought of I hope I remembered to pick her hooves popped into his mind. He did not want his mare getting dirt mud and probably poop all over their nice clean floor. That would be embarrassing. He didn't want to make a mess on the first day. First impressions are everything, no matter what a person is doing but, in horse showing its even more important. A reputation could mean the difference between a door being opened or closed in terms of opportunity. His main goal was to not step on anyone's toes, at least until he got things figured out. He wanted to lay low for a while.
Jude was looking for Ebony's stall. His head was moving back and forth, looking for names. It didn't appear to be alphabetical or in any particular order at all as far as he could tell. His mare snorted and bobbed her head as he walked her. He mentally went over the things that he was told when he had first arrived. Farrier schedule "B".. registry number..39... team fidens. He was happy about being put with Team Fidens, he had heard that they had been doing well lately and he wanted to be a part of the streak that they seemed to be having. He wished that he would have gotten something telling him where his mare's stall was located.
He wondered who his instructor (s) was/were going to be. He hoped to meet them soon, before his first lesson. It was always nice to go into a lesson, knowing an instructor because then you had an idea of what you were going to be in for. Jude was not a person that liked to "fly blind." He liked to know what he was getting into.
He finally located Ebony's stall. It was large, certainly large enough for his 16.1 hand horse. He slid open the door that made nearly no noise. Jude was impressed. He walked his mare inside and took her halter off. He gave her a quick pet on the face and she nickered at him. The mare was about a 4 out of ten on the hyperness scale with ten being very spirited most of the time. She was a thoroughbred and she did get mare-ish from time to time but, she was a good horse and she was perfect for Jude.
He let himself out of the stall and Ebony turned herself around so that her head was sicking out. Jusde smiled and continued to pet the mare. He didn't have anywhere pressing to be at the moment and he had a few minutes to spare with his horse.

Arnold had been standing in Sonny's stall growing out the stallion. As he brushed out the big boy's mane he could be heard mumbling something. "Sonny this isn't good. Fourth place! Such losers we are. This isn't good. I want FIRST at everything not stupid fourth!" He wasn't just putting himself down, but his horse as well. "Those fools will pay for thinking they have the right to be better then me, better then us!" He said in a snort under his breath. He shouldn't be so harsh, for now he was blaming other people. Some of those fools where his own team mates too. Oh how he needs to stop being so cranky and learnt to live with it. After all it wasn't like he had came in last place or something lower then that.
Brushing a knot out of Sonny's mane the stallion whinnied when he saw another rider walk by his stall. "Shut it Sonny." Arnold growled. He was pissed off that much was for sure. After all it wasn't Sonny's fault it was just how things ended up. "Don't give me that. Maybe I will just go find a better horse!" He then told the Stallion who was his friend. The stallion just snorted and whinnied again. Sighing Butch took a deep breath to calm himself down. "Sorry boy." He then said as he realized in his crankyness he was pulling really hard on the stallion's mane. Patting the stallion on the neck he put the brush away now that he was finished brushing him down.
However, he did realize he forgot to get the hoof cleaning kit he had brought with him. Sighing again he walked out of the stall, closing the stall behind him, but he didn't lock it and it bounced open slightly behind him. While Butch went to the tack room to track down his missing kit he didn't notice Sonny push open the stall door and walk out. The stallion made his way down the isle and over to the other rider he had seen walk by.
He Whinnied at him and at his horse. Oh the old stallion was just being friendly was all. Yet he was free roaming and loss with Butch in his grumpy state not noticing for he had the door to the tack room closed. Sonny just looked at the mare then at Jude before he started to lip at the mare's mane in a playful manner.

KEILLOR HOLSTONE [style=width: 420px; background-color: 69876c; text-align: justify; padding: 8px; line-height: 10px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10px; align: center;] Keillor was just heading in after riding some trails on Faith. The little palomino was snorting happily, her head bopping with every stride she took. Her ears were pricked sharply forward, listening ahead intently at something as they approached the barn. What it was, Keillor had no idea. "What is it little ladySTAFF POSITIONS " The mare continued to walk at a quickened pace, and then let loose a shrill whinny that shook Keillor. His free hand reached forward and settled on the mares neck, steadying her. Is something wrongSTAFF POSITIONS he wondered, I sure hope not. His hand moved rhythmically with her strides.
They reached the barn quite fast, as the mare had almost broke to a jog several times since they left the cover of the trees. Keillor couldn't remember Faith ever being so... Forward. He dismounted in a swift motion, pulling the mares split reins off of her neck and unraveling her leadrope from the saddle horn. He clipped it onto the ring on the bottom of her halter and then slipped the bridle over her ears. Just as he placed it on the saddle horn and looped the reins over top so they wouldn't trail on the ground, Faith let loose another whinny. Keillor wasn't panicked - he knew someone was inside, as he heard horse hooves in the alleyway. If there was a problem, they were dealing with it, and nobody was shouting, so...
He turned and slid open the large door that lead into the barn. What he saw was puzzling, and explained why Faith was being un-Faith-like. There was a stallion loose in the alleyway, and it was lipping at the mane of another mare. The stallion looked to be a draft cross, and Keillor did not recognize him. The mare in the stall looked Thoroughbred, and he did not recognize the guy in the stall - not even a little bit. Sometimes being at Hollow Aspen was like starting at a new school all over again every day. There was such a high volume of applicants, that even though a lot of people got turned away, a lot of people didn't. This meant that there was always new people, and not all of them were nice. Some were barely even human. That would explain why he didn't recognize either of these guys in the barn, though. They couldn't have been around for long, as Keillor at least was friendly and made an effort to get to know people.
Bringing Faith 'round in the alley, he turned and shut the giant sliding door behind him. He clipped her into the cross ties closest to him. They were right near her stall, which was at the far end of the barn - the end he was in now. The stallion and the mare were a ways down from where he stood with Faith. Faith pawed the air twice, nickered, and then snorted. Keillor stepped forward, trying to get a good look at the boy behind the stallion, and he called out, "Hey... Is there anything I can help you withSTAFF POSITIONS "[/style] ▐ W O R D S » approximately 720.

] [/IMG] Not long after he had put Ebony in her stall, he couldn't help but overhear a guy talking or, scolding his horse about a proformance or something. He hadn't seen the show but, it must have been recent. He heard the guy say some pretty nasty things to his horse. Wow. The guy has a temper. Jude had been to a few different barns and there were always a really wide range of people there. Some of them were jerks or snoods or just plain mean in all aspects of life, even outside of the competition ring. Jude was competitive but, he likes a fair fight. He hates to lose but, he couldn't ever see himself yelling at a horse for a proformance. Jude tried to not judge others because, mainly it was wrong. But, Jude was human and not judging is quite hard to do when you hear a man yelling at an animal.
But, he also heard an apology to the horse so, he had no idea what to think right at that time. He tried to not think anything of him. He didn't know him.
Jude stroked the pure black mare's cheek. The only speck of white on her was a little star right on her forehead. Jude loved darker horses. He thought that they were georgous.
Just then, he heard a stall door open and..closeSTAFF POSITIONS Jude turned his head to see that the guy who was in the stall was leaving for something or another but, that the door didn't shut all the way behind him. This was not the guy's fault. He wanted to walk over and shut it for him and actually took a few steps toward that way but, before he could get near it, the stallion was out of his stall and loose. Jude didn't want that horse to bolt. That could get him into big trouble. He didn't really know who he belonged too but he looked like a really nice horse. Luckily, the stallion walked his way over to Ebony. At first he was happy that the stallion was more interested in her than the grass outside but then, he became a bit wary of the stallion being near his mare. He could see that the stallion was friendly and he knew that Ebony generally liked other horses but, if something did go wrong and a fight happened then the stall door might get broken.
He wasn't concerned with a breeding taking place because Ebony wasn't in heat. By this time he was back over by the horses and had given them a little bit of space. He didn't know for sure what to do with the stallion. He didn't know whether to put him back in his stall or to leave him there. He didn't want to touch him and get yelled at but, he also didn't want to look like he had let the stallion out either. As he thought about what to do with the stallion, Ebony reached out her nose to try to touch noses with the stallion. The mare was merely returning the friendly behavior but, Jude knew that nose touching was a big fight starter.
Ebony, with her neck still stretched out, whinnied at the stallion. The mare always liked having new friends and was very social for being a mare. Jude was very happy that she was not "mare-ish" when it came to others. He knew mares that could only be around other mares of the same pasture or a fight would break out. Jude was thankful that Ebony was not like that.
Just then, he heard the bard door slide open. He turned his head to see a man walking a little palomino down the ally. The man tied his horse in the cross ties and then said "Hey... Is there anything I can help you withSTAFF POSITIONS " Jude would gladly take some help right now. Uh..yeah actually, do you know whose stallion this isSTAFF POSITIONS He walked a little closer to where the stallion's stall was to see if there was a name or something. Something on his stall says SonnySTAFF POSITIONS He was hoping that the man knew the owner and could tell him whether or not it was okay to touch the horse. He didn't really mind the stallion as long as he was being friendly but, his owner probably wanted him in his stall and he didn't want to look like an idiot just standing there and not doing anything about an obvious problem.

The stallion was quiet friendly, but that comes with age really. Being a gentleman in his show name, he was a gentleman off the course as well. Very bright and calm, he can be a bit of a show off. That is just because he likes mares and watches to show them he is the best. He also likes being praised by clapping and cheers from humans as well. Rubbing noses with the mare he pulled his head away and sneezed facing Jude no less. Stepping to the side he whinnied loudly as he saw a black mare and another human enter the barn. He called to the mare and bobbed his head before he reared up. His front legs didn't kick out at anyways, but instead where close to him before he landed with a thump. He had been facing away from Jude and had been far enough away from the other boy that he wouldn't have kicked him.
Shaking his head he he tossed his mane and it flew over his eyes annoying the heck out of him. Snorting he then shook his head again, and then again before he got the mane out of his eyes. It was about that time that Jude said his name which made his ears prick. Jude saying Sonny's name also made Butch turn to face door of the tack room. "WhatSTAFF POSITIONS " He said to himself, yet still out loud. Finally finding the box he was looking for he grabbed it and tucked it under his left arm. Opening the door up he walked into the allyway and rolled his eyes. Damn you Sonny. He thought to himself as he walked over to the Stallion. "He's mine." He then said in an annoyed voice. "Stop flirting with the babes." Butch then scolded the stallion as he grabbed onto his halter. "Come on." He then told the stallion as he pulled and started to walk.
"Excuse us, one ton puppy coming through." He then said to the guy from the team that wasn't his own. Moving around him he brought Sonny back to his stall and the stallion tried to pull away. Being so big and wanting so badly to go rub noses with every mare in the barn the stallion pulled his head hard and half reared. That action made Butch let go of the halter and drop the box with the hoof cleaning kit in it. "Sonny knock it off!" He yelled as the stallion then stood there and looked not at him, but past him at a curious mare in her stall.
"Sorry, he is being a teenage male right now. I am Butch by the way." The blonde haired boy then said to Jude and the other guy. Turning to open the stall door, he then turned around to grab Sonny again only for the stallion to have walked over to another mare's stall and sniff at her. Putting his hands over his face he rubbed his head. "You are giving me such a headache." He mumbled to the stallion. Turning again he grabbed his lead rope off of the hook by the stall door and walked toward the stallion. However, Sonny noticed Butch coming and walked away making sure he was out of arms reach as he sniffed and poked his head in at all the mares' stalls as he made his way back towards Jude and the other rider.

KEILLOR HOLSTONE [style=width: 420px; background-color: 69876c; text-align: justify; padding: 8px; line-height: 10px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10px; align: center;] Before Keillor could react and get a hold of the stallion, another boy he did not know came from the tack room carrying a brush tote. He looked thoroughly irritated, and the scowl had deepened on his face at the sight of the other boys and the stallion, loose in the alleyway. The horse was undoubtedly his. Keillor felt like going into a big lecture about how stallions are dangerous, even if they're 'well behaved' stallions, but it wasn't exactly his place. So he did a 'fist-in-mouth maneuver,' biting his lip and diverting his eyes from the scene in front of him for a few seconds to bring his temper back. His temper wasn't something that was often visible to others, and it was because he had damn good control of it. That, and he was pretty easy going.
"He's mine. Stop flirting with the babes. Come on!" exclaimed the blonde boy, who was definitely foreign to Keillor. To him, the stallion looked like a total brat, or like this blonde didn't have his horses full respect. Keillor glanced back at his palomino mare, who was standing patiently in the cross ties, looking back at him as if to say, "I told you something was amiss!" "Excuse us, one ton puppy coming through." Keillor scowled, surprising even himself with the animosity he felt toward this boy after knowing him for a whopping five minutes. He scooted aside nonetheless, back toward Faith. If that thing got loose, the last thing he wanted was for it to get near his little mare.
Once the horse was secure in his stall, the boy came back out. "Sorry, he is being a teenage male right now. I am Butch by the way," he said, not entirely unpleasantly. Keillor felt a twinge of guilt. He didn't even know this guy; maybe was actually decentSTAFF POSITIONS He'd have to give him a chance. Keillor knew better than anyone that shit happens, and maybe it was pure accident that the horse got loose and it was just bad luck that the horse in question happened to be an ill mannered stud. The boy looked at the horse. "You are giving me such a headache." This made Keillor smile slightly. "Nice to make your acquaintance, Butch. My name is Keillor Holstone." He looked at the other boy expectantly as he stood in his mares stall, hoping that he hadn't seen Keillor shooting daggers at Butch, as he wasn't an unpleasant person at all and didn't want to give off negative vibes. He smiled cheerfully, looking between the two boys. [/style] ▐ W O R D S » 414.

[/IMG] A guy came out of the tack room holding a grooming box. The guy said that the stallion was his and "retrieved" him. The guy sounded really annoyed and he couldn't really blame him. He wouldn't be too happy with Ebony if she was walking aroung and was hitting it off with Stallions. The guy was yelling at his horse again. It was hard to not think that the man was just an angry guy who shouldn't be owning horses.
Then, he introduced himself as Butch. He recognized the name from somewhere. Where was itSTAFF POSITIONS .......Team Roster! It's cool meeting you Butch. He smiled at him, them being on the same team in all he wanted to make a really good impression. I think I saw your name on our team roster. I'm Jude. The man standing with his palomino mare looked really friendly. It's nice meeting you too Keillor. He smiled back at him as well. He didn't recognize his name from anywhere but,he didn't seem like a bad guy.
Jude let himself out of his mare's stall. He was feeling a bit clausterphobic in there. He moved himself a little closer to the other two guys, perhaps to have a bit better conversation. His mare's stall was several stalls away from where the palomino mare was cross tied. By the time he got a bit closer to them, the stallion was out of the stall again. It made Jude smile a little. It was obvious to him that either his stallion wasn't very well behaved or trained or that he didn't really respect Butch. He didn't really want to say anything though. The last thing he wanted to do was to make an enemy on the third day and especially with a team mate. He was going to let Butch deal with his stallion. As long as Ebony wasn't being harmed then, he didn't really have a problem. She wasn't doing anything wrong.
"Talk like this."
