it's the little things in life that mean the most NOT WHERE YOU LIVE, THE CAR YOU DRIVEOR THE PRICE TAG ON YOUR CLOTHES THERE'S NO DOLLAR SIGN ON A PIECE OF MIND- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -It didn’t take long before Lucas had gotten himself a job at Hollow Aspen. His habit of waking up early wasn’t going to change any time soon, and that had been leaving him with what felt like a lot of extra time with nothing to do. While he enjoyed the downtime to a degree, he wasn’t used to not working practically all day; so, when he found out Hollow Aspen was looking for stall cleaners in the stables he gladly applied and was quickly accepted. It might not be the most glamorous of jobs, but it was a necessary one and honestly something he didn’t mind doing. Mucking stalls had always been a peaceful chore for Lucas. It was a good way to start the day in his opinion, as it gave him a chance to clear his mind and prepare for the day ahead.
Despite being in a new setting, the sounds of horses contentedly chewing their hay, the soft shuffling sounds of hooves in the bedding and the scent of a barn early in the morning were enough to comfort Lucas with a sense of familiarity. This was heaven, even if he was about to start one of the least desired daily chores when it came to caring for horses. Walking through the barn, he began softly humming to himself as he gathered supplies to do his job. Moving to the far end of the barn, he paused by the end stall and glanced in at the horse before lightly smooching at the beast to get its attention. He didn’t want to surprise a strange horse by simply barging into the stall with it. Once the horse acknowledged him with a soft snort and a flick of its ear, Lucas entered the stall and began the task of cleaning up after the animal.
After spending the time to make sure the first horse’s stall was as clean as possible, Lucas moved onto the next stall, repeating the process to make sure he had the horse’s attention before entering and starting all over again. Even moving quickly, this task was likely to take the majority of the morning. At home cleaning stalls in the morning was always a quick task, simply because they kept so few horses actually stalled overnight. Most of their horses spent their nights out in pastures so there really wasn’t anything to muck. Hollow Aspen was different though. All of these horses, in all the barns were stalled, and needed to be picked up after.
Finishing with the current stall, he stepped out and glanced down the row, not seeing anyone else yet at this early hour. He began humming along to the tune of a song that was stuck in his mind a little louder as he entered the next stall, determined to continue moving along as quickly as he could while still doing a quality job.

YOU CAN BE MY a sigh escaped her lungs two days earlier and the transition was still a bit of a shock. as she lifted from the bed. she had arrived at hollow aspen two days earlier and it was still quite a shock. rosie, the large german shepard padded up along the bed side as soon as she could hear the movement. ivy smiled lightly to the canine friend and removed the blankets to get out of bed. silently, she got dressed, not worrying about showering or anything. she had her gelding on her mind, and he settled in alright, she was still getting phone calls about him sweating in his stall or colicing due to lack of water. the thought pondered her and she threw on a light button up shirt. she wasn't at all dressed for social life, just for her horse.
blonde locks were still tied back in a messy french braid, a hot pink baseball cap hidd the worst of it. the morning was cooler than usual so she comfortably wore a large light pink ariat pull over hoodie, a pair of sweat pants and quick slip on runners. make up didn't exist at such an hour, figuring that no one would be out at the barn any ways. she put the pink leesh on rosies western leather collar and guided the animal down to her little car. the both got in, stopped and tim hortons grabbed a coffee and timits then began the journey to the barn. the car eventually pulled into the barn at around seven thirty and only one vehicle was in sight, one of the stable hands perhaps. or someone else was having problems with their horse too.
sliding out of the car, she let rosie out and had the shepard walk at her side. tension didn't exist in the leash and ivy had to admit, the dog was trained well. as they entered the large barn, many long equine tiara greeted her, as well as roos. his stall was finally embeded in her mind now and she knew exactly where he was. she walked up to his stall with a small smile, but company was just a stall away. the faint sound of humming entered her ears, as well as rosies. a small whimper of excitment escaped the dogs mouth and quietly ivy tapped the dog with her toe, queing for her to shut up. ivy entered roos stall and tied his dark rope halter around his tiara. it was then that the male stablehand came into eyesight. he must have straightened, because now he could be seen. { good morning sir. } she said quietly, a small smile across her face. rose was laying outside of the barn, her tiara lifting to the sound of ivy's voice. ### WORDS WORDS WORDS SHORT NOTES NOTES NOTES OUTFITS OUTFITS OUTFITS ---------------- [url=http://z10.invisionfree.com/CAUTIONTOTHEWIND/index.phpSTAFF POSITIONS showuser=52892]CREDIT |

it's the little things in life that mean the most NOT WHERE YOU LIVE, THE CAR YOU DRIVEOR THE PRICE TAG ON YOUR CLOTHES THERE'S NO DOLLAR SIGN ON A PIECE OF MIND- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -In the years Lucas had spent around horses, he had come to the conclusion that there were really only two types of horses when it came to cleaning stalls. There were the easy horses, the ones that seemed to like keeping their stalls clean, which always made it easier when mucking. Then there was the other kind of horse. The ones that it seemed they spent every waking moment of their time trying to make their stalls as messy as possible. The stalls that belonged to these spreaders were always the ones Lucas had dreaded mucking back at home. It seemed even the expensive horses at Hollow Aspen were not exceptions to this "rule". Even though this was his first day cleaning, Lucas was positive he would quickly figure out which horses he liked cleaning up after and which ones made his job hellish. Stopping after one of the more difficult stalls, he shook his head at the mare who stood munching her breakfast rather apathetic toward the man standing in the stall with her. "You're going to be one of those, aren't ya mareSTAFF POSITIONS " He laughed as she simply swished her tail. Exiting the stall, he wiped the beads of sweat that had already began to form on his brow off with the back of his arm. Sighing he looked down the barn aisle, pleased with his progress so far. He had made good time so far, which made him happy since the day was already showing signs that it was going to be a warm one and he still wanted to at least get Maggie out of her stall before it got to be too late in the day. He moved onto the next stall and paused to look at the stall card to read the horse's name. "Well good morning Roo," he said softly to the black horse and began to open the stall latch, but stopped as he saw the horse jump away from the stall door and press himself against the back wall as if he was trying to put as much space between Lucas and himself. This caused Lucas to frown slightly as he gazed in at the horse. "You're a jumpy fella ain't yaSTAFF POSITIONS " He asked the gelding, still in a soothing voice as he watched for any change in the animal's reaction. Seeing none, he continued to frown slightly as he thought of his next action. He didn't really want to get in a stall with a horse that seemed that nervous, especially if he was in a hurry to finish the rest of the stalls. It just seemed like it was asking for an accident. "I'll come back to ya, okay boySTAFF POSITIONS " He soothed as he latched the stall door again and moved down the line to the next stall. Lucas figured he'd finish the other horses, and return to this "Roo" horse so he could try to spend some time, at least moving slowly in his stall, when he cleaned it. Greeting the next horse as he curiously stuck his head over the stall door, Lucas rubbed the horse between the eyes and stepped in the stall with him. Starting to work on the stall, he began softly singing to himself, just to fill the quiet of the barn as he worked. He was so absorbed in what he was doing, he didn't hear anyone else enter the barn, until he began humming along to the same song as he finished the stall and turned to open the door and step out. That is when he heard the soft canine whine and the latch slide on the stall next to him. Leaning over he saw a shepherd dog laying outside the nervous gelding's stall. Stepping out of the stall, he closed the door behind him and stepped toward Roo's stall, just as a light female voice greeted him. "Good mornin' to you ma'am." He replied kindly as he took another step closer to the stall, pausing to glance down at the dog, laying by the door. "Sorry about not getting to his stall yet," he began to explain quickly, not wanting someone to have a fit about their precious baby's stall not being cleaned as soon as it was sullied. "He seemed real unsure about me going in there, so I figured it would be better to wait till I finished the others so I could take my time with him." He told her with a small smile as he leaned lightly against the barn wall.

YOU CAN BE MY dark ebony harks flicked in every direction as the gelding watched intently on the man cleaning the stalls around him. he was interesting forsure, making weird sounds as he worked, kept going stall to stall and looked like he was just thoroughly enjoying his job, one might say in sarcasiam. long ebony tassles rested over the brawny neck as he took a step toward the next stall the man was, who was more focused on his work than his surroundings. velvet kissers stretched toward the bars of the door as the man continued to clean. when the male turned toward the wheel barrel, roo quickly tucked his nose toward his chest and spun around. his ears laid against his skull listening to the male guide the wheel barrel out of the stall. as the stall door closed, his muscles tensed, giviong him a much more muscular look.
it was then that same man walked up to his stall with that large rake. ebony twins quickly went black and his body collected underhimself as he flew backwards, slowly turning, trying not to look away form his attacker. just as he was ready to run, the barn wall came into focus and stopped him was a nice 'thunk.' he knew if his master would have seen that, she would have simply laughed at him, but as emotionally sensitive as he was, he was embarassed, and his features showed it. though there was still fear roaming his body as he avoided eyecontact with the man - who just walked away. as the man wented into the other stall next to the coal equine, the creature relaxed and became curious once more. ears became perked to the soft sound of his rythmical tones of voice and his body inhaled a deep breath of air. roo continued to stand there facing the male as he continued to work at his stalls, daring not to take an eye off the beastly creature. then of course the soft sound of his master entered his mind and he knew he was safe.
"Good mornin' to you ma'am." his voice returned hers and she gave a small smile before looking toward the black beast within the stall. rosie was all over the groom desperatly wanting and bagging for attention, and well, roo got into the phase also with ivy. "Sorry about not getting to his stall yet," the male spoke once more, and the blonde was quite confused. when she took a closer look, the stall was very similar to the way it was last night. then she realized he was a stable hand. the idea of someone cleaning her stall was a bit disgusting for ivy, it was her horse - money shouldn't have to pay for taking care of the animal. but she kept that to herself as she turned to the male { it's all good, if you wan- } her ovice was stopped with his once more and he quickly explained himself. "He seemed real unsure about me going in there, so I figured it would be better to wait till I finished the others so I could take my time with him."
figues, the horse gave him trouble. she sighed lightly as she turned to look a roo, who was resting his chin on the stall door, waiting patiently for ivy to take him out to pastures or go for a ride. as he continued through his explanation, ivy returned to his attention, hiding the smile that tried to tug at her features when she heard that he was still going to conquer the gelding but wanted to take his time. it was something unexpected, everyone else shes seen here had horrible patients for their horses let alone someone elses. for a moment she was speechless, but quickly gathered her voice and returned his favor. { yeah, he's a pain in the ass this one. you learn to laugh at him. if you'd like i could introduce you to him now, he's generally more brave when i'm here. if you're still working thats alright, i'll be here for a while anyways. }
she found herself rambling. the fact of talking to so many compeitive people was intimidating, though the fear didn't show in her voice or her apperance. she made sure it was carefully hidden. sapphire orbs glanced down at the shepard who carefully found herself laying across the mans feet, on her back waiting for the belly rub. the blonde rolled her eyes and made a very faint kissing sound and rosie jumped up and cowarded over toward ivys side, laying there anxously and excitedly to get her attention from someone. ### WORDS WORDS WORDS LUCAS MONTGOMERY, OPEN NOPE.
