Emma entered the empty tack room, her head spinning. Was she really that much of a dork STAFF POSITIONS She needed to see a therapist, ASAP, after a reaction like that! Leaning back against the wall, Emma willed herself to just stop thinking. But how could she STAFF POSITIONS She'd just burst out in tears after dropping. A. Bracelet. In. A. Puddle! What twenty year old on earth did that! STAFF POSITIONS Emma knew that the other blonde she'd met must think she was a nutcase. And I probably am, Emma realized. But if Tommy, or anyone, had been around that cool Septemeber day way back then, they'd be chilled to the bone, too. "I'm never going to make friends if I act like I should be in a straight jacket!" Emma muttered to herself, tempted to bang her head against the tack locker she was so frustrated with herself. "Maybe I should just...go home..." she whispered softly. After all, her older sister, Natalie Ricardi, would never be reaching her own dreams thanks to Emma. So why should I get the chance toSTAFF POSITIONS , Emma wondered. She lowered herself onto a tack trunk, thumbing the rusted charm bracelet that she'd slipped on her wrist. Feel free to join in at any time! :)

Abby turned the engine off of her ford, and exited throught the door. She locked the truck, and tucked her key into her small purse. I'll put them in my "locker" in the tack room... She thought, and rested her hat on her back, adjusting the stampede string to comfort. Abby entered the barn, and heads popped through the doors. The brunette grinned as one tossed his head, probably hungry. Early in the morning, the barn was empty. Just how Abby liked it. It wouldn't distract Cider in tacking up, and the arena's are nearly always empty. The female zipped up her " Cowgirl Up Or Shut Up" faux fur sweatshirt as she entered the ring. She opened the partly-closed door, suprised to see another soul- a blonde female- accompaning her in the large area. Abby waved when she caught the girls eyes, and grabbed her kit of brushed, and Cider's red, nylon halter attached to a matching 14 foot lead. Before she left to Ciders stall, Abby turned. "Hm, are you new STAFF POSITIONS I haven't seen you around. And, why do you seem sad STAFF POSITIONS " The expression on the blondes face seemed unnormal compared to what Abby was used to. "Be right back." She grinned, and went to grab Cider. "Come on out, if ya want." Abby turned back, and slid open his stall door. "Hey handsome!" She said excitedly, stroking the geldings face. Sometimes, Abby wished she hadn't gelded him. Cider would make a great stud. She smiled, and slipped the halter over his head. Abby lead him out, and cross tied him. "Let's go do something, for once!" She hugged his nose, and stroked his face. Abby started grooming him, smiling in the process.

Emma had been startled by the brunette's appearance, but the girl had a friendly smile, anyway. Emma debated on whether or not to go talk to her. If she did, the girl could probably introduce her to some of the horses, and equines always cheered Emma up. The blonde stood up and left the tack room. She spotted the other girl in the cross ties with a gorgoues gelding.
"Um...yeah. I just got here today." Emma said slowly. She forced a small, nervous smile, but her hands shook as though she were having a mini seizure. "I'm Emma....pretty horse."
She made no response to the girl's other question, about looking sad. She didn't want to risk another break down or she'd soon be known as the Hollow Aspen Psycho.
Emma wore dusty cowboy boots, her nice Booty-Up Wranglers, and a large belt buckle that read 'Fall Fair Barrel Racing Champion' on it. Her plaid blue and brown shirt was tucked into her jeans.

Abby looked at the girl, who seemed like she was going to explode in nervousness. But, Abby continued to smile though. She blew out a laugh. "Thanks. This is Cider, and Ace is mine over there, too." The brunette tossed her head over to the black overo, who tossed his head in approval. Abby laughed, and moved over to stroke his head. "I thought you were new. Hey, if you want, we could tack up Ace to, maybe we could ride around, show ya the place STAFF POSITIONS " She grinned, and tossed the last brush in her bucket. Abby swiftly moved into the tack room, passing the girl. She grabbed her saddle and blanket, draping the bridle over her horn. "If not, we're gonna go do some reining, your free to watch." Abby swept away the remaining dirt, and through the blanket and saddle onto Cider. She adjusted the tack, and dropped her cinch. Abby didn't cinch it all the way, as she wasn't going to be riding for another 15 minutes or so. "So, welcome to Hollow Aspen, anyways." |
