[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Thank you. Kim smiled as James gestured toward her large bay stallion whom many, including herself, said looked weird. So, it was nice to have at least one person think that he looked nice. Looking over at James after she was done fixing Monster's saddle and reins so he wouldn't hurt himself on them, smiled and took James' arm as they walked over to the large dapple stallion who seemed to be watching their every move very intently. Shhh. She cooed at the stallion, trying to get him to relax. She didn't know what his training had been like but, she knew that most horses relaxed after being spoken softly to. Kim may have been young but, she had trained a few horses in her day. Not so much with thoroughbreds but, she figured that warm bloods and thoroughbreds couldn't be that different. There were all horses after all. Kim looked at James as she decided to ask him how his training was. What's his training been likeSTAFF POSITIONS She asked curiously, not intending for him to take offense to it for whatever reason. Kim never wanted to offend people because she hated it when others said rude things to her. She smiled at him and her blue eyes were looking to meet his. [/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. Eyes deep as the ocean dug deep into the skin of James and Kim who were now standing at the rail. A thunderous snort erupted from Venom's nostril's as he pinned his ears as Kim tried to coo at him. Venom, however wasn't taking the bait. James sighed and put a hand to his forehead "This guy is almost to much of a hot head Letting his gaze meet kim's as he then glanced over her shoulder at the two, large brutes, Primo who was rubbing his neck against the wooden railing of the pasture. Turning back to the large dapple as he paced along the back rail, his head held high and nostrils flaring, puffs of white carbon dioxide being released from his fuming frame.
James then looked to Kim as she mentioned the training and already James wanted to drive down to Garret's farm and give him a good work out but James cooled himself. James cleared his throat and glanced to venom "His training was hard ... Racehorse.. Just off the track, apparently they seemed to be using the buzzers and whipping a bit to frequently, although some of the riders are known to be quite rough even just handling the horses outside of training.. and when in doubt a lot of the trainers and handlers are men" As James explained the situation, Venom had decided to make a daring move. Spinning on his hind he then began to canter around the pen, snaking his head and bucking away as he came close to the pair at the rail.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] The dappled grey stallion's eyes bore deep into Kim's skin. It was like he was angry at her or something. Like he was angry at the world. The horse seemed so pent up with his anger and frustration that he had no other way of releasing it other than what he was doing now. There was no doubt that this horse could be dangerous to herself and to James. When she had tried to calm him down the stallion, his ears were pinned back and his nostrils were flared. This horse was too smart to take what she was giving to him. He knew that trick and he wasn't going to fall for it. Kim still had a few more tricks up her sleeve though. This wasn't her first rodeo either. Just like Venom, Kim was also smart and a trifle stubborn too. That was why her mother allowed her to help with training the warm bloods at her farm. Her mother knew that she wouldn't have gone soft and given up trying to get a horse to do something. Well, he's certainly smart. Kim said in response to James who said that the horse was a hot-head. Which, was true. The horse did have some anger issues that she hoped would sooth eventually for James' sake. When James' eyes met her own, her heart skipped a beat. Wait, what STAFF POSITIONS What was that STAFF POSITIONS More weird feelings and things happening to her. She also, then looked over at the two brutes who were just hanging out. Primo had been rubbing his neck against the wooden fence and Monster had gone over to stand by the black stallion and he had been looking at some other horses who were in the pasture. When her attention went back to Venom, he started cantering about the round pen and when he got to where she and James were standing, he bucked. A clear sign that they were not welcome here. A little startled by the kicking, Kim took a step back, forgetting that her arm was still intertwined with James' and she accidentally pulled his arm a little bit. It wasn't enough to actually pull him back but, she was sure that he had noticed it. How embarrassing. She soon stepped back to where she was, not giving the stallion the satisfaction of making her step back and stay there. James had said that Venom's training was hard and that he was straight of the track. Even his handling had been rough. Yup, that'll do it. She was referring to Venom's actions now that she knew how his training had been. Kimberly personally thought that Venom needed some tender loving care to calm him down. Though, she was angry with the folks who had trained the horse, there wasn't anything that she could do about it. At least Venom was out of their hands and into James'. Kim continued to watch the stallion canter about the ring. He would be a wonderfully beautiful horse one he calmed down and was trained better. His lines were beautiful and his legs were long. Kimberly obviously saw these things as good traits for a dressage horse because that was what she rode in and trained horses for. She was sure that if she did reigning then she would see the horse as a good reigning horse. Truth was that Venom could be very versatile with different disciplines and it would be all up to James what Venom was going to be. The horse was like wet clay. Well, almost wet clay. But, he was practically mold-able from the state that he was in. He didn't know anything but racing so, his brain may need some time to adjust to other things but, the horse was smart and Kim didn't see that as being a problem. [/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. A sigh escaped from James' lips as he was looking to kim, his gaze was just turning back to the pen when Venom bucked at the rail and kim jerked back, tugging on his arm slightly, with a grin James turned to look at her and chuckle "Not expecting that huhSTAFF POSITIONS " With that James felt a small flutter in his stomach as she came to stay next to his side again. He could get used to having Kim next to him. As Kim stated Venom to be smart James nodded and put his free hand on the rail of the pen "You have no idea how smart that beast is" With that James glanced over his shoulder again to look at the two brutes.
Primo was now pulling at the gate and James flinched and released Kim's arm "Uhh can you stay here a moment I need to remind Primo of his less curious nature" With that, James was walking toward Primo, pulling his brute away from the gate. Upon James' disappearance, Venome stopped and stood in the center of the ring, his eyes softened and his ears slowly came to perk on his skull, curiosity now developing in his head as he then took a single step in Kim's direction, although a frustrated nicker was released from his kissers. Venom wanted to trust her but wasn't so sure if it was a good idea.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Kim had to laugh at herself when James brought up that she hadn't been expecting Venom to buck so close to them. Yeah I guess not. She smiled as her body got closer to James'. He was warm. Not only on the outside but, on the inside. James had a good heart and he had a good nature about him. Maybe that was why she trusted him so quickly and easily. Maybe that was why she had been acting the way that she had been. Maybe he was just a good friend STAFF POSITIONS She had always been happy to be around her male friends before. It sort of made sense. But, there was still something different. When James said that she had no idea how smart Venom was, she wanted to see how smart he was. She wanted to test the stallion a little and see if he could figure it out. He obviously wasn't anywhere near ready to be ridden yet but, when he was, she hoped that James let her ride him a little bit to do her intelligence test on him. It was in Kim's nature to want to figure horses out. Monster had been like an open book but, Venom was not. He was like a locked diary. Yeah sure. She nodded, telling James that she would stay here with Venom while he went to go and talk to Primo. But, as soon as he left, Venom stopped in the middle of the ring. His gaze softened slightly and his ears became more relaxed as well. James had been right when he said that Venom liked females better than males. She couldn't blame him either. If she had been treated how Venom had been treated by males, she would like females better too. Good boy, Venom. She cooed again at the stallion. It seemed if he didn't know whether to trust her or not. She wished that she had a carrot on her or something to hand out to the stallion if he came near her. She always gave Monster a treat after their rides together but, all of his treats were in the barn. She hoped that the stallion would still trust her anyway. [/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. An index finger poked Primo's cheek and James pulled the stallion a few paces from the gate, telling Primo that he couldn't mess with the gate. Although as he glanced over at Kim he noticed Venom had completely stopped and so James decided to just observe the scene and se if he could get anymore little details out of the stallion as his attention was fully on kim.
A toss of the mane and an encouraging bob of the head as she cooed to him again and this time Venom's eyes softened slightly once again and he slowly, taking baby steps made his was to the rail, his velvet nose only a hands length away, lowering his head to be level with her eyes, he seemed to be studying her, seeing if she was worth actually trusting or if he should bail while she couldn't reach him. Venom tilted his head slightly when she didn't immediately lash out at him and try to catch him and so with a cautious step forward, Venom came to place his chin on the railing, his long tail flicking effortlessly in the slight breeze.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] James still hadn't come back yet and Venom was relaxing ever so slightly. The horse began to take little baby steps as Kim's eyes were on him. She didn't want to take her attention away from the horse for fear that he would get scared again and run away. Slowly but surely, the stallion was at the fence. He seemed to be studying her up and down. Taking in every thread in her t-shirt and every stain on her jeans. The stallion was not going to trust her easily. That's a good boy. Kimberly told the dappled stallion. He wasn't quite there yet but, he was making quick progress. Usually horses that acted like Venom did took days for them to get this close to a human and not act aggressively. Kim wanted to reward the horse for his steps over here and let him know that he was doing a good thing. She could have reached out and touched the stallion if she wanted to but, he didn't trust her enough yet. She could tell that he wasn't that comfortable. She saw the little wheels in Venom's head going by looking into his eyes and there was still uncertainly laying there. So, Kimberly left her hands at her sides, not wanting to rush the stallion or scare him. She would wait until he relaxed more before she would touch him. A few more moments later, the stallion took another step toward the railing and his chin rested on it. Now, he was very close to the brunette. She slowly raised her hand and offered it to him to smell. It was a weird thing that animals did that Kimmy didn't understand. Why animals wanted to smell hands before they judged character STAFF POSITIONS Only and animal could answer that. All she knew was that it worked. Though, Kim was being cautious as well. Venom could at any moment go back to how he was only minutes ago and bite her and run away. Horse bites were not fun but, Kim kept that fear from herself as best as she could and hoped that Venom didn't pick up on it. Caution was okay to show around horses but, fear was not. That was something that her mother had told her but, she knew that until she herself knew Venom better, she would fear him at least a little bit. [/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. Eager eyes watched the stallion and Kim as James kept himself next to the ebony Hanoverian. Primo was now relaxed next to the rail and was clearly not interested in the pasture gate anymore, giving his rider a nudge on the arm with his velvet nose. James, absent mindedly began to stroke the stallions forehead as he watched the pair at the round pen.
Muscles rippled across a dapple coat as Venom tossed his mane, clearly to try and shoo the flies, no intention of trying to startle or harm Kim. As Venom rested his chin against the rail, he was still studying her Venom had been taking everything in but when her hand raised slowly, Venom raised his head and tossed his head around before spinning on his hind to trot around the pen once, his mane and tail flying around him in the breeze. When he returned to the rail he cautiously stretched out his neck, although pulling his head back a few times before he let his nose graze her fingers, just barely touching her. Taking in her scent, Venom snorted lightly, not the ignorant and aggressive ones as usual, but a sort of relaxed and exhausted snort. Although Venom wasn't moving his nose any closer to her hand, only the tips of her fingers were touching the velvet.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Venom, shook his main slightly to get the imposing flies around him to go away. Kimberly had always associated it with waving your hand around. It made Kim smile to see that the horse was actually a horse and not some screaming death trap that he had been a few minutes ago. It was good for the horse to act normally around a person. It taught them that it was okay to do.
As her hand slowly raised, the stallion spooked a little and began trotting around the ring but, Kim stayed still, not wanting to scare him more. Though, when he did come back, his velvety nose touched her fingertips, barely. But, it was a big step forward. Good boy. She told him before moving her hand back down to her side, not wanting to push the stallion any more. He has already made great progress in the short time that Kim had spent with him, Venom deserved a little break.
She did look over her shoulder at James who was lounging at the pasture fence, absentmindedly petting Primo's nose and she saw Monster playfully push him with his head as if to say "me too, me too , pet me too!" Monster was a silly boy. She smiled and laughed a little before turning her attention back to the dappled stallion.

[/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. Curiosity had finally fell and with an easy nicker, Venom toassed his head and turned to walk off toward the back of the pen, his eyes now focused on the grass just below the bottom rail of the pen. James then started toward the pen, realizing that Venom was done being curious. As James came to stay next to Kim, Venom stomped a hind hoof and snorted loudly, although he showed no sign of any real threat as he grazed.
James turned from Venom to Kim and could help but look at her with a slight bit of astonishment "Kim ... I don't know how you managed that but ... It's a great step forward for him" James couldn't hide the hope that he was feeling for the dapple right now. A horse with as much problems as Venom has had, letting another human touch him is a giant leap to over come.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Venom's curiosity went away and he took a nice little trot to the other side of the pen to graze a little bit. Grazing was good. Gazing meant a horse was relaxed or at least relaxing. No horse would graze if they felt like they were in danger or if they felt angry. When James came over to her, she couldn't say that she wasn't happy. Being near her friend did bring her joy. To be honest with you, I don't know how I managed that either. Being with horses had always been very natural for Kim and this was an example of it. She didn't really know how or why she had gotten the stallion to improve so much, she only knew that she had. It was an odd thing. She was sure that Venom's reaction to James was nothing personal, just that he was a male. Venom had been treated poorly by men so, not much could be said about that. If you want me to, I can come by every once in a while and visit himSTAFF POSITIONS Kim offered to James, not paying any attention to Venom or her own horse. Only on James. Her offer had been purely for rehabilitation purposes. That was what Kimmy told herself inside of her head. No way could it possibly be an excuse to come and see the handsome 20 year old, could it STAFF POSITIONS No, they were only friends, right STAFF POSITIONS Right. Kim didn't know what to think about herself or about James. They were friends for sure but, if Kim did like James as more than a friend, would he feel the same way STAFF POSITIONS That was what scarred her the most about what was going on.
