[/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. Early morning sun tried to warm the cool breeze that swept through the trees. It was around eight o'clock in the morning and James had gotten himself up out of bed, with quite the struggle though. He entered the stables and noticed that Primo had eaten his breakfast. With that out of the way he quickly grasped the english reins from the tack room and entered the young stallion's stall, fastening the reins to the large skull of the brute. Exiting the stall once more, closing the door behind him he went and grasped his gloves from his tack box and headed back out. James trusted his horse enough to hack without his helmet and saddle. Leading the large Hanoverian out of the stables and out toward the pastures he then climbed onto the stallions back, getting himself comfortable before he headed off toward the trails.
Reaching a trail Primo had his head high and ear perked to the fullest. James pressed both heels gently into the stallions flank, signalling to change gates from the walk to his ever so smooth trot, although it had its moments where he could get off beat and end up getting a little bounce. Primo was doing pretty well so far, no spooks or even the slightest fidget. James relaxed his seat and brought Primo back to a walk as they came to a stream. Dismounting the large 17 hand high brute he then let Primo take a few sips from the stream before mounting again, although James just sat there ontop of his horse, listening to the water trickle.

It was quite early and Kimberly hated mornings. She wished that she could sleep in until noon like her middle school days had been. But, the thought of going out on a trail with Monster, made the morning a little more bearable. She made herself a cup of coffee before getting dressed and brushing her teeth and hair. She looked in the mirror and huffed. Good enough, i guess. She walked out of the bathroom and went to the cupboard to get her cat, Selvester some food. The cat was perched on the floor right in front of his food bowl with his fluffy tail moving back and forth. Kimmy laughed a little as she poured the eager cat's breakfast. She, had grabbed a granola bar and some milk for her own breakfast before jumping in her car to go down to the barn. When she arrived, there was already another car here but, she didn't really know who it was. She got out of her car and walked to Monster's stall to see him having already eaten his breakfast. His big bay head was sticking out of the window and he whinnied to her. Well, good morning to you too, buddy. She pet the Stallion's face before leaving to grab his things. Upon returning, she was carrying a bridel, a saddle and a blanket for her steed. She trusted the large stallion but, these were new trails and one never knew what was going to happen. She walked inside the stall with the saddle pad first and saddle first, leaving the bridel hung up right outside the stall. She placed the saddle pad on his back and then the saddle and then tightening his girth. Monster knew this drill and stood still for it. She then grabbed the bridel and slipped it over his large bay head. She then led him outside of the stall and found a mounting block to use. fet 5 foot and 5 inch frame must look odd on such a large horse but, that was the way that she liked it. She found a mounting block to use and quickly mounted her warmblood and rode him out of the barn at a walk. When they reached the outside of the barn, Kimberly found a suitable trail for their trail ride and asked her stallion for a trot. His speed was a bit fast but, Kimberly liked fast. She had Monster under control so, there was nothing wrong with a little speed. His gaits were smooth and elastic. He kept his ears alert and his neck held high. Then, they reached a stream with an attractive male sitting on a black horse who could have only been a few tenths of a hand taller than Monster. She decided she would go and talk to him for a little bit. So, she sat deep in her saddle and asked Monster for a walk. He slowed right down and began a fast walk. They rode right up next to the stream but, Kimberly kept distace between the two stallions. She didn't know how friendly the guy's horse would be. Hi She looked at him and gave a friendly smile. She took a glance at his horse, he looked very nice and by nice she meant expensive. [/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. James had ben so lost in his own thoughts that he hadn't heard the other pair approaching. Primo who had been munching on the tall gras next to the trail, nickered a greeting to the other rider and mount. Curiously Primo stretched out toward the other, large stallion. Taking in its scent. James was then knocked into sense when n innocent and quiet voice spoke out to him "Hi" Smiling James looked at the very attractive woman next to him. Taking a moment to catch his breath, her beauty seeming to almost get the better of him "Hello uh.. Nice horse, Its nice to see another larger horse around, I thought Primo might be the only large brute .. I'm James' He pressed his right leg against Primo's side and his side stepped closer, close enough that James could rech his hand out to shake hers. Being Closer, Primo stuck his nose out to the stallions, exchanging a greeting, his ears perked forward.
James then smiled lightly and began to fidget on his stallions whither's, Primo had been slouched, resting his hind foot and now that he had to move they were standing up right and James needed to fix his posture to get more comfortable again. James secretly took in her figure and details of her face and he couldn't help but almost fall off his horse at her beauty and even so she seemed so shy.

His smile was beautiful and his teeth looked like stars in the night sky. She almost lost track of what was going on. She remembered that she was having a conversation and not just looking at a pretty poster. Monster, noticing the stallion's neck reaching for him, nickered at the other large horse, reaching his neck out as well to say hello. Monster was a very friendly horse and was used to being around other stallions so, he didn't have a dominance problem or an agression problem. He was actually very calm and very focused most of the time. Thank you, your horse is very beautiful as well. She loooked down at the ground for a moment before returning her gaze to his eyes. Yeah, I thought that Monster was gonna be the only big guy around too but, I guess we were both wrong. She laughed a little. It was nice being able to socialize with others, especially when those others were as attractive as James. After he introduced himself, his horse Primo, came closer to Monster and they both touched noses and exchanged scents with one another. Monster's ears were also forward as their noses touched. Kim reached her hand out to shake the one that had been reached out. I'm Kim, it's nice to meet you. She smiled again as her thinner, more feminine hand touched his warm palm. She watched as James fixed his horse's posture as well as made himself more comfortable. She and Monster hadn't been here long enough for him to start slouching but, they had been here long enough to stretch out his neck forward and take a break. Kimberly didn't allow eating or drinking on trails with bits in mouthes. Horses could choke on water if they had a bit in while drinking and eating with a bit in could harm teeth and dentist bills were high enough without having to pay for preventable dammage. Monster knew the rules and respected Kimmy enough to follow them. She didn't know whether to keep looking at him or to look away or to be quite or to continue the conversation. She hoped that he would be the one carrying the conversation on. She was usually a very social individual and when it came to competition time, she was no where near this shy. She was like a totally different person in a competition ring. She decided to say something. So..uh.. are you new hereSTAFF POSITIONS It was the only thing she could come up with. [/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. I could live without money I could live without the vain. Grinning as she spoke about Primo, the stallion's attention however was fully on the other large brute. Primo hadn't really met any other horses close to his size and for once Primo was behaving himself, usually around other horses Primo was a little uneasy but this stallion didn't seem to bug Primo at all. Primo nickered lightly in a happy manner, nuzzling the other brute neck lightly, in a friendly gesture. James, watched both of them and chuckled "Usually Primo doesn't warm up easy to other horses but he seems to enjoy Monster's company" As she reached out and shook his hand James let a small, childish grin play on his face. Her hand was so much more dainty than his own stronger grip. At her remark of thinking the same thing about her equines height, James couldn't help but smile lightly and nod his head " Yeah we were both wrong for sure ... Its nice to see Primo warming up so nicely to another stallion like this, usually he is fidgety and alittle spooky" With that James turned to look up stream, the water rushing down toward them.
Being brought back by her next set of words James slowly looked back to her "Yeah I'm new, I just arrived a few days ago .. I'm on team Polleo ... and youSTAFF POSITIONS " A hint of pride as he mentioned the name of his team. James had chosen Polleo since the day he filled out the application to apply here at Hollow Aspen. Primo then pawed at the earth lightly, getting a little anxious to move. James smirked and looked to kim "Well Kim.. Seems these guys might wanna get moving .. Care to join meSTAFF POSITIONS " Hoping she would accept his offer to hack with him. James usually hacked alone but company was never a bad thing.

] I'll spread my wings And learn how to fly [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: B8B8B8; border: #550505 solid 4px; width: 400px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] Seeing the grin on James' face was a familiar grin. Complementing one's horse was a great way to break ice and start a friendship. Who wouldn't smile after their pride, joy, harwork, time, energy, money, sweat, training and long hours had gotten complemented and recognized. She knew that she always grinned ear to ear whenever anyone complemented Monster. She had raised him herself, with a little help from her mother because she was only 14 when he was born. He was literally her baby, she had raised him and he had known no other rider besides Kimmy. Well, he had had a few other people here and there but, it was mainly Kim. Monster was well-behaved around most horses so, when James said that Primo didn't usually warm up to others, it didn't suprise her that he liked Monster. She didn't want to brag about her horse but, most other horses liked him. He was easy to be around. He wasn't aggressive or dominant and he didn't really have personal space issues as long as another horse wasn't literally in his butt. He was a friendly horse who just wanted to be friends with everyone. Yeah, Monster seems to like Primo too. She smiled again. Since she had gotten here, she hadn't been able to stop smiling. ReallySTAFF POSITIONS I would have never expected him to jumpy. She looked at the black stallion, standing next to her. Kimbery, growing up with a horse under her, can usually peg horses on their personalities pretty well. But, she apparently was wrong with Primo. Kimberly also looked at the water and felt her horse getting bored of standing. Monster was used to cantering and jumping on trails, not standing by a rive and looking at pretty flowers. Even though her horse was very calm and mild-mannered, he still loved to run. The sound of the water was relaxing and the scenery around here was beautiful. After she soke to him, he slowly turned his head back to her. She wasn't offended. This river and grass must have looked much better than her morning look. She wasn't really expecting company this morning, if she had, she would have spent more than five minutes getting ready. She nodded absentmindedly as he tol her that he was new here as well and that he was on team Polleo. She had heard a hint of pride in the team name that he was given. She assumed that he had chosen it in the application instead of leaving it empty. I'm new here too, I think that we might have came here on the same day. She smiled. I'm team Cohearo..looks like im fratinizing with the enemy. She teased him as she smiled and laughed a little. She wasn't really into the whole team thing. Of course she would help her teammates as best as she could but, she wasn't here for a team. She was here for her own success. But, her success meant the success of the team. If she wanted to succeed then they would have to as well. She definetly wasn't into the whole rivalry thing. She wouldn't ever intentionally be rude to someone of the opposite team. Like she had said before, she was here for herself, not a team. She hadn't even met anyone from the same team yet. Noticing Primo pawing ant the ground and Monster was also begging to go forward. James then asked her if she would join him on the rest of the trail ride. Yeah of course. Lets go. She smiled before asking Monster to walk forward. His hooves plunged into the water without a problem and began to navigate the river to get across. [/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. I could live without money I could live without the vain. Letting a relaxed snort pass through Primo's nostrils as he then walked forward after Monster, ears perked and he then plunged into the river without hesitation, his large hooves picking their way through the water. Thinking over her words he then looked to her and couldn't help but admire her look. Sure fancy was nice but personally James enjoyed seeing girls in worn jeans, baggy shirts and a messy bun. Giving and light tap to Primo's flank the brute picked up his feet and slowly eased his way up the bank and back onto the trail. James then remembered her words and cleared his throat "Yeah he is only jumpy around new places and horses, once he settles in he will hardly spook at all" James then gave his stallion a pat as they continued to walk.
Thinking over her remark of them arriving the same day he tracked back and thought he saw he once or twice that day. James nodded and chuckled lightly "I thought I saw a pretty lady my first day, it had to be you" James smirked as he complimented her. Primo, who had been twitching his ears back toward the riders every so often let out a small nicker, as if laughing at the two. It was obvious they both had small feeling's for each other but both of them wouldn't admit it so, James started it off. With a smirk he then sighed "Well .. I don't think my "enemy" Is all that bad, actually my enemy is pretty cool if you ask me" Leaning down on Primo's neck he then scratched the stallions chest lightly, Primo gave a low, soft snort of relaxation to vibrate his nostrils. Chuckling James sat back up in his seat.
Glancing at her bay stallion James wondered what sort of events he competed in. Guessing showjumping and maybe dressage he then spoke up to ask "Soo what do you and Monster compete inSTAFF POSITIONS " Keeping the conversation going, he then noticed a small, thin tree had fallen over and lay on the ground, similar to that of a ground pole. Tapping Primo's sides lightly he then sped to a light jog, picking up his feet perfectly to get over the small trunk. Sitting down in his seat he then stopped to wait for her, once she caught up he would start off again.

Or, not so nice. Kim wasn't a fan of wet jeans, they were uncomfortable. Kimmy looked back to see if James and Primo were following them and, to her delight, the large black horse and James were not far behind. The river wasn't too huge and they were both close to the edge. James had gotten out of the water first and then Kimberly made a clicking noise to Monster who pulled himself onto the bank and to the trail. She listened to his words and nodded to show that she was listening to him as they continued walking down the trail. Yeah, that's pretty normal. Monster only gets nervous walking through big crowds but, other than that he's pretty mellow. She pat her bay warmblood's neck. Both horse and rider were listening to James' words. Monster had been listening to this whole conversation, much like Primo had. Kimberly smiled as he complimented her. It was nice to have someone think that she is pretty enough to tell them after only talking for a little while. Yeah, I think I remember you too...talking up that blondeSTAFF POSITIONS She raised an eyebrow as she teased him. Kim may be a little shy and sweet but, she knew how to flirt and quite enjoyed it. It was one of her favorite things. Kimberly maybe liked him. He was a cool guy and sweet too. He was also very attractive which helped his case but, Kimberly didn't want to jump into anything too soon. She had just gotten here a few days ago. She didn't want to do anything that distracted her from doing what she came here to do which was to compete, win and make a name for herself in the horse industry. She was brought back to reality from her thoughts when James spoke. Well that good cuz' I don't think my "enemy" is all that bad either. She smirked at him and then Monster snorted, loudly. Her horse's antics were always funny. He was just a goof-ball all the time but, he was her goof-ball and if Kimberly had it her way then, he would be a champion goof-ball soon enough. Then James spoke again. Kimberly was happy that he was going to be carrying most of this conversation. She was a friendly person but, not the best at coming up with things to talk about with someone she had just met. Noticing the fallen tree, she decided to answer his question after they cleared it. She asked Monster to pick up a spirited trot. The pair cleared the small, thin tree effortlessly. Monster was used to jumping things much higher so, a little tree on the ground was nothing. He could jump up to five feet which was the Prix hight. She had never been to one but, she wanted to make sure that he could do it before the opportunity came. She even wanted him to go a little higher and try to get him to go up to 6 feet which was the olympic hight. It would be an understatement to say that Kimberly had high goals. We do mostly show jumping but, we also do a little dressage. What about you and PrimoSTAFF POSITIONS She looked at him and smiled. [/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. I could live without money I could live without the vain. Letting a small chuckle pass through his smooth lips, James grinned and looked over at her as she mentioned that Monster didn' t do so well in large crowds. Nodding he parted his lips to speak "Yeah my mothers horse didn't do well in crowds either, Primo however just ignores them" Letting one hand fall to his side, holding the reins with one hand. James had ridden western when he was younger to get him balanced well enough for english and on some random occasion he would put a western saddle on primo and do a little western pleasure. At the mention of talking up the blonde he rolled his eyes playfully " Hey I had to make some sort of an impression before I made a complete idiot of myself, although ... I could probably make an idiot of myself in front of you and you would probably just laugh .. She seemed like she might have judged me ... The way she looked at primo, I thought she was judging him a little as well" With that Primo snaked his head around to nudge James' foot. With a grin James tapped the stallions velvet nose with his foot lightly.
Primo looked forward again and James turned back to Kim as she started to talk again. A boyish smirk creeped onto his face as she mentioned that he was "cool" to. Chuckling he spoke "Well that's good to know I'm making a good impression on you, because honestly ... I have no idea what I'm doing" Pausing to chuckle he then cleared his throat "I'm just kinda talking about whatever comes to mind" Ending his words he then leaned back, using his free hand to scratch Primo's hip, also to stretch out his arm.
Watching the pair clear the small trunk he knew that they had to be of some english riding because one, Kim was rding english at the moment and two a western horse would have slowed down and pretty much just stepped over it. Just as he had concluded his assumption, Kim spoke up to prove him right. With a smile James nodded "Yeah I thought you guys might do a little dressage but I had a big feeling you guys did jumping, Monster is a perfect height for it, just like Primo.. OH Me and primo do showjumping and Cross country" Pausing for moment, he then got an idea "Hey maybe sometime you can come try cross country with me and Primo, I'm sure Monster would do great" There was no hint of sarcasm or lies in his words, he spoke truthfully about her stallion. He seemed to love the outdoors and he also seemed to enjoy jumping, you put the two together and you get Cross Country.

I'll spread my wings And learn how to fly [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: B8B8B8; border: #550505 solid 4px; width: 400px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] Kimberly was beginning to like the sound of James' laugh. Maybe it was just the fact that she could actually have a good time with a guy and laugh without feeling any pressure. The guys that she knew back home only had one thing on their agenda and it was not making friends. Responding to the comment that James had made about his mother's horse not doing well in large crowds, Yeah, its difficult enough trying to get a giant through a crowd let alone when that giant gets jumpy. She laughed a little and pet her horse's neck. He was a good boy. Does your mother compete tooSTAFF POSITIONS It eas very possible that she did. James didn't look much older than she was and her mother was only in her thirties which isn't old at all for equestian sports. One could compete in their fifties if they were in the right sport which made horseback riding so much different than any other sport. Most sports, one had to retire in their twenties but, with horse back riding, you could ride until your late fifties or early sixties. Her mother personally didn't compete anymore because she decided to pursue breeding instead. Looking at James, she noticed that he was holding his reins western style. She would do the same thing on trails like these just for comfort and relaxation but, Monster didn't neck-reign so it would be really dangerous. James spoke again, defending himself playfully about her comment of him talking up the blonde. She smirked at him as he spoke. Yeah, I probably would. She chuckled a little in response to his statement that if he made a fool of himself then she would probably laugh. She was probably just jealous and honestly, I don't blame her. Primo is a beautiful horse. I mean, Monster is a wonderful horse and I love him to death but, he is no where near as flashy as Primo is. As for judging you...she probably thinks you're some kind of a rich snob or something. She shrugged her shoulders, knowing that she was probably right. If she didn't love Monster so much then she probably get a little green over Primo as well. Listening again as James spoke after Primo messed with his shoe, James said that he knew that he was making a good impression on her and he was. He was certainly a cool guy and she was sure that they would be good friends, maybe more STAFF POSITIONS She didn't know about all of that but, she wanted to be friends with him. It would be nice to actually know someone in this new town and it helped that their horses got along. Kim probably wouldn't be very close with anyone who didn't get along with Monster or whose horse didn't get along with him. Monster was a pretty good judge of character so, Kimmy trusted him with things like that. Yeah well, if we were talking about whatever came to my head, we'd be talking about spoons or something. She laughed a little at herself. It was something that didn't need to be worked on. Kimberly always knew how to laugh at herself. She smiled after they cleared the small trunk and James spoke. It was good to know that Monster obviously looked like a jumper. It was part of her goal. It meant that he was in good condition. She wasn't suprised when James said that Primo did showjumping and cross-country. Primo was the perfect hight for it and obviously had no problem taking jumps. Yeah. I'd love to come out and try some cross-country with him. She paused for a moment as she pet his neck. Sometimes I feel like he gets bored running around in an arena all the time so, it'll be good for him to do some more outside work. She liked taking Monster out on trails because of that reason. She didn't want him getting sick of the arena and it was also good to get some variety besides Jumping or Dressage. And, she heard the sincerity in James' voice which made her more willing to try it. She knew that some of the people at home would have wanted her to try it to embarrass herself. James Knight
[/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. I could live without money I could live without the vain. Listening with interest, James was almost caught off guard when she asked about his mom. It was a good question though. With a smile James nodded "Yes she does, she used to do jumping when she was younger, around my age but now she does western ... I used western pleasure to calm Primodown before I started jumping and cross country" Speaking the truth. James had needed to use western pleasure to get his stallion under control. James then sighed lightly and looked up to the tree's that shaded their trail, the sun breaking holes in the canopy above. Keeping his eyes ahead of him and looking straight through his stallions perked ears. At the sound of her voice again he glanced over at her, to show he was listening. " I know Primo is a flashy horse but honestly, I don't find him anything over the top, I raised this stallion on my own, with only the slightest of help from my parents because Primo was to stubborn and they got tired of trying to reason with him, I know his flaws and trust me, he isn't all class. He was born on a ranch haha its not much but its home "With that he cleared his throat and looked down at monster, him and kim sure had a good bond, similar to him and Primo.
As they moved along the trail, the tree's started to thin and they soon came to an open field, the tall blonde grass swayed in the breeze. Kim spoke up, about how if she was making conversation it might wander to spoons. James let loose a chuckle and looked to her "Oh yes I'm sure it would" James teased as he then glanced out into the fields. More then thrilled when she agreed to come along with him sometime. As she explained about her worry for monster, James nodded "Yeah .. thats one of the main reasons I started cross country for Primo, he has high energy and a close in arena wasn't doing it for him, he still had way to much energy so I started cross country and it works great" With that he gave primo a light pat on the neck.

I'll spread my wings And learn how to fly [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: B8B8B8; border: #550505 solid 4px; width: 400px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] She was looking at James and occassionally nodding as he told her about his mom's riding. Not a bad idea...you know i've never actually tried westernSTAFF POSITIONS She spoke the truth. It was honestly something that she had never thought about. Teaching a horse a pleasure event to help calm them down or doing anything western. She would have to bring the ideas up to her mom and maybe they could start doing western prospects as well and bring the warmblood breed there too. She was sure that they would beat to crud out of the paints and the quarter horses there. Monster never really needed to calm down, even at a younger age. Of course he was spookier and more jumpy like any normal young horse was but, he never really bolted or pushed to go faster. He had always been content to go the speed that was directed to him. He was such an easy horse to please. Taking a moment to admire the beautiful scenery around her, she saw the light shining through the trees, making a wonderful pattern on the ground. It was still early in the morning but, they had been out long enough to have the sun start to really warm the earth again. She felt the sun start to melt some of the chilliness that she had been feeling. As James spoke again, she turned her attention back to him by looking at him. He was explaining that he didn't feel that Primo was anything over the top and truthfully, he wasn't. James then explained where Primo was born and that he had raised him, himself. This made Kimmy smile really big. Not like creepy big smile but, an excited smile. It was so strange that they had so many things in common and got along so well together, it was almost more than Kimberly could handle. But, after taking a moment to recompose herself, she spoke again. ReallySTAFF POSITIONS Cuz' I raised Monster too. My mom breeds warmbloods and she gave him to me when I was fourteen and I trained him basically by myself too. It was so cool to be around someone else that had so much in common with you. She chuckled at his reponse to her spoon comment and then as the golden medow came into veiw, she listened to him explain how he and Primo had gotten into cross-country. It made sense why he did it and it was good that a horse like Primo was out there. She didn't think that she would ever compete with Monster in cross-country but, it would be nice for him to try it every once in a while. Yeah, definetly. I'm glad that cross-country worked out for you guys and i'm pretty excited about having Monster try it. She smiled and also pat her horse on the neck who appreciated the praise very much. He had been walking a lot today and deserved a little thank you at least. [/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. I could live without money I could live without the vain. The scenery around them was amazingly beautiful, the gold of the grass seemed to make Primo's almost opposite color pop. A low, relaxed snort was released from Primo as they continued. Never tried westernSTAFF POSITIONS ! well Geez now James knew what he had to do. With a smirk he looked at her in disbelief " your kidding ... never rode westernSTAFF POSITIONS ! ... WELL It just so happens that I brought my western saddle and pad with me ... I'm definitely going to get you to try Letting a chuckle pass through his lips at the thought of how much effort it was going to be, to get that saddle up on Primo again.
As Kim began to take in the scenery, James to glanced around more, the leaves were finally starting to change color's. As Kim began to speak again, James was almost in shock. She had to raise her horse toSTAFF POSITIONS all on her ownSTAFF POSITIONS Like himSTAFF POSITIONS "Wow .. My fathers ranch only has quarter horses, although my mom took a friends horse when she had to move away, Primo's mother. I had been given my first horse when I was ten .. My gelding was six when i got him ... When I was just turning sixteen James paused to take a breath, talking about Cracker was a hard thing for him. "He fell Ill with Cancer.. It was so bad that we had to put him down.. A whole year passed and I wouldn't even go near the barn, until I was turning seventeen and my mother told me something was wrong in the barn so I didn't think I just ran into where my father was and Lunar had fallen into labour ... I watched Primo being born .. After that something clicked and I couldn't say no when my father asked if I wanted him With that James let out a small breath of air that he had been holding in.
As they continued she braught up another thing to talk about, cross country. James let loose a chuckle and shrugged "I had no choice. It was cross country or death with a high energy horse that wanted to run every chance he got moved James then smiled and looked down at Primo. In some ways James thanked Cracker for all the experience and knowledge he had given James to make him the person he was today. And in some ways James believed Primo was a gift from Cracker, telling James to move on and help give this demon a purpose.

I'll spread my wings And learn how to fly [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: B8B8B8; border: #550505 solid 4px; width: 400px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] The golden grass around around Monster's bay coat almost looked magical to Kim. His tall frame towered over the grasses but, they still came up high enough to ticke his legs. This was a time when it was good to have a tall horse and short legs. Now, Kim didn't have to feel the prickly tickliness of the grass below them. Snapped back into reality by James' "shocked" response to her never riding western and that she would have to try. She laughed, not a little giggle or a chuckle, she laughed pretty hard. Dear god, you better have some deadbroke horse for me to try it on. She continued to laugh. The thought of her trying anything western was hillarious. Not that she wouldn't try, no, she'd try anything once. But, watching her try it would be hillarious. She could see herself fumbling with the reins like a novice or losing her balance and falling off or something. Then, the conversation got more serious when James began to speak again and Kim stopped laughing and listened to him talk. He told her about his horse that he had gotten when he was ten and how he had to be put down because of cancer. She could easily tell that this was a sensitive topic for James and she didn't want to be insensitive to it. I'm so sorry, losing a horse is a horrible thing to go through. I remember when I was younger, my mom had me ride a new horse every few years and it wasn't easy for me to say goodbye to them either. My story isn't as hard as yours is but, I do know what its like to have to say goodbye to a horse. She wanted to sypathize with him to try and make him feel better. It was no fun remembering things like this and being sad all over again which she could tell that James was doing now. She was glad when the topic changed to cross-country and he started laughing again. In some ways she felt like it was her fault for bringing up the sad topic. She chuckled along with him and after he had said that he had no choice in the matter. That it was either cross-country or death. Haha well, cross-country sems like a pretty good option when you're comparing it to death haha I would have chose the same way. It was good to talk aout light things like this and keep laughing. That was the way that Kim liked it. She could deal with heavy stuff but, she would much prefer to talk about light subjects. [/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. I could live without money I could live without the vain. The laugh that came from Kim made a smile fall onto James' face. The words that she spoke made him grin and shake his head "Now I know Primo may not look like a dead broke horse but when riding western, you would think he had been a pleasure horse for life ... Primo wont let you down Giving her a wink of encouragement he then clucked, Primo's ears twitched back and his pace sped up to a trot.
At the sound of her story, about loosing horses he nodded and gave her a sympathetic smile " Thats what the horse life is like though ... Horses are going to come and go James hadn't been able to say that before, but now he understood. James had loved western riding but it didn't have that thrill like when you are racing around a jumping arena. James then let his gaze wander back to her, using his free hand to run through his cow licked, chocolate locks. At her last set of words James let loose a grin and nodded "Haha I agree with you completely" James then stretched out his arms, dropping the reins on Primo's neck.

He said that Primo wouldn't let her down and then winked at her and her heart skipped a beat. Wait, what STAFF POSITIONS What was that STAFF POSITIONS That had never happened before STAFF POSITIONS That was weird. Oh well, it probably meant nothing. S, she ignored it and continued on with the conversation. Well, I guess i'm gonna have to trust you on that. She chuckled as she looked forward again, looking through Monster's creamy brown ears. He was a funny looking horse, he really was. Kimberly thought that he was beautiful but, to others he looked odd. His main never really grew out so, it was short. His legs were very long and his body was thin. Though, his eyes were always kind and never did a thing to hurt anyone and that was why she loved him. He was a little teddy-bear that would sit and listen to her for hours and let her mess with him without a complaint. On top of all that, he was a competitor and could get the job done and done right. He may look funny but, get him in a competition and you better watch out. Seeing that James had gotten Primo into a trot, she asked Monster to pick one up as well to keep up. Monster, picked up a speedy trot like he had done in the beginning of the trail ride and had passed Primo. Slooow trot, Monster, slooowww. She soothed the horse while checking and releasing his reins to back up her vocal command and, Monster slowed back down to Primo's pace willingly. She was sure that Primo could have easily speed up to Monster because they were roughly the same size and had almost the exact same stride length but, it was rude for Monster to try and speed away like that and Kimberly wouldn't allow rude horses to be rewarded. But, since he had slowed down so quickly she did reward him. Good boy, Monster. She pat his neck and then he bobbed his head in happiness. She then looked at James. Sorry about that, he gets really excited on new trails. She apologized to him, not wanting him to feel like she was trying to leave him behind. Responding to James' comment after her story she said, Yeah I guess, it still sucks though. She kinda wanted this particular part of the conversation to end. It wasn't that she was insensitive, it was quite the opposite actually, she was too sensitive about these things and she was afraid that she might start crying if the conversation got any sadder but, she kept that from her voice. Western riding looked kinda fun at it would be a good change of pace for Kimmy. Instead of racing around a jumping arena or making perfect circles, she could try some western pleasure or something. He couldn't decide if she was excited or nervous about it. Sh didn't want to make a fool of herself at this new school and be the laughing stock of the whole town. Looking back at James as he spoke, she saw him run his hand through his cow-licked hair and she tucked a peice of her long brown hair behind her ear. Then I guess it's settled, when given a choice between cross-country and death, choose cross-country. She laughed a little. People had told her that she had a good senseof humor and that she was funny but, she wasn't entirely sure that she was. Sometimes people didn't get her jokes and just kinda stared awkwardly. [/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. I could live without money I could live without the vain. Letting Kim take his full attention he had forgotten all about the project stallion he had taken from Garret McGuell. As he remember he almost lost his breath. At her words he smirked and shrugged "I wouldn't put you on a demon ... Speaking of demon .. I'm getting a project horse later today from a family friend ... would you like to come take a look at him with me ... Apparently the big guy hates everything" James really had no idea what he had gotten himself into, although he used to work with the more aggressive horses back home ... Hopefully that would pay off.
As Monster came to go by Primo, James could only chuckle. Once at Primo's speed Kim apologized and James raised one hand, dismissing her apology "No worries, Primo used to do that to haha I know what its like" Now that James remembered the stallion, that was almost the only thing going through his head .. how the hell was he going to perfect this horseSTAFF POSITIONS
At her next set of words he completely ignored them, trying to get off the more depressing topic. Although when she mentioned about choosing cross country over death he let out a chuckled and nodded Kim I couldn't agree with you more Grinning as he then scratched the stallions shoulder, Primo giving a small, excited jump into the air, James holding on with his legs, laughing lightly as he checked back on the reins to collect primo back.

Yeah, that'll be fun. Kimberly smiled at James, happy that she got to do something else with him besides the cross-country practice and the western lesson. She didn't really know why she was so happy to hang out with this guy. Yeah sure, he was cute and sweet and loved horses and funny and....what was she thinking again STAFF POSITIONS Oh well, it must not have been that important. Kimberly had worked with her mom with some of the stallions back home that had gotten themselves little attitude problems or, big attitude problems in some cases so, she was sure that she would be of some help to him. Now, she had a reason to be happy. She was going to go and help her friend with a project. James dismissed her apology and played it like it was no big deal which, was cool of him. She just nodded, not really knowing what to say next. Kimmy had always been social and liked to be around people but, sometimes she got really socially awkward and didn't know what to do next. This, was one of those times and she didn't want their friendship getting awkward or falling apart so quickly. She starting fiddling with her reins a little bit, getting a little nervous. Wait, why was she nervous STAFF POSITIONS He just wanted ot be friends right STAFF POSITIONS He couldn't possibly be interested in her in any other kind of way. He was amazing! He could have any girl he wanted, why would he pick her STAFF POSITIONS They were just friends. She was convienced that that's all he wanted to be. She was glad that the depressing topic was finally over but, it seemed like their next topic was over as well and, now it was her turn to start a new one. So..uhm..tell me a little more about this project horse. She thought that it was a safe topic. Horses was something that they had in common and they were fairly easy to talk about. [/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. I could live without money I could live without the vain. As they rode, the day seemed to just get hotter. As Kim agreed to accompany him to Venom's stall later, it almost relieved him. James was seriously stressed about this stallion, although the day he got here, they ran into a girl by the name of Taylor. Venom seemed to chill out when the opposite gender of James was around, whySTAFF POSITIONS James had not a clue. Letting the reins fall onto Primo's neck, James stretched his arms, twisting his shoulders from one side to the next. Once finished he then picked up the reins again. Looking to kim he gave her a small smile "Thank you Kim"
As they started to make their way around the field and back into the other side of the forest, headed back toward the stables now, James realized they're ride was growing shorter. Letting the small, relaxing breeze tangle with his cow licked locks, the breeze also tangling in Primo's long, ebony mane. As Kim asked to know more about the project horse James was more than thrilled to tell her "Well He's the same size as this guy, although he is a thoroughbred, right off the track .. He wouldn't behave so they stopped training him.. The first day he got here there was a girl Taylor .. Venom seems to enjoy the company of girls more than men ..." James was praying that the thought of Venom taking slightly to Kim wasn't going to scare her off, although James doubted it and he really wanted to spend more time with Kim, She brought interesting conversations.

What was different about James STAFF POSITIONS She didn't know the answer. Maybe she...liked him STAFF POSITIONS A little STAFF POSITIONS Either way, Kim knew that their ride was almost over and her heart sank a little as she realized that they were now headed to the barn. She wished that they could keep riding forever and ever and never get off and just keep talking but, that was sadly not happening. It's no problem. Kim smiled warmly at James. As James told her about this new horse of his, Kim was actually excited to meet him. She had been training horses since..who knows how long. She loved working with green ones and even super green horses like the one that James had. Kim nodded as she listened to him speak. Yeah, I'm excited to meet him. Kim told him while quickly checking him out. Hoping that he wouldn't notice. Actually, praying that he wouldn't notice. How embarrassing would that be STAFF POSITIONS Yeah, that would be terrible. Gaze landing on the large scene of the grounds James' heart sort of skipped a beat then sunk slightly. James didn't want their conversations to ever end. Letting a small sigh escape his lips James turned to look at her, both hands dropping the reins on Primo's whither's, grasping a handful of Primo's long ebony mane into one hand, his other hand stroking the stallions shoulder as they walked. James let her first words pass as he knew she would have more to say eventually. At the mention of her being excited to meet Venom, James wanted to raise an eyebrow and ask her if she was being serious, but he let his face stay at an easy smile "Well I hope he will be abit more behaved than a few days ago" Letting the soft patter of Primo and Monsters large hooves against the gravel ring into his ears as they entered the grounds once more.
James looked to Kim and then to the far round pen where Venom was staying until James could move him. Venom giving a loud and slightly annoyed whinny as he noticed their return. James wasn't going to mention that the dapple over there was in fact the project horse. If she asked then he would tell her, if she didn't he would wait and just show her. James then halted Primo next to the pasture and cleared his throat "Hey... Uhm Maybe Primo and Monster could be pasture buddiesSTAFF POSITIONS Seeing as they get along so well" Just as James mentioned the two getting along Primo reached over and gave monster a playful nudge with his large head, his ears perked high upon his skull.

[/div] tearing love apart, More sinking. As the barn actually came into view, Kimmy thought about quickly telling Monster to start galloping in the opposite direction and then pretending that he had spooked and run off for no reason. But, she had a feeling that James would recognize her schemes. Monster was too mild tempered and too calm just to run off. The most he would do is just to the side if a dog ran directly at him, barking. That actually happened to her once and she was complimented on how calm and well behaved her very large horse was. People always seemed shocked when large horses are the nice ones and little horses are the mean ones that bite and kick.
As her words passed and the four of them were getting ever so close to the barn, James' looked at her as if he wondered if she had been serious about wanting to meet the supposedly unruly stallion.
Kim was staying quiet, still a bit uncomfortable with how she had been acting recently. She was never this way around boys. Back home people actually called her a flirt but, with James..it was different. Something changed. Then, a loud whinny from a round pen with a dappled grey stallion inside, came to her ears. She looked over at the beautiful creature and laughed slightly. She always though it was great when horses whinnied at other horses or even people.
Monster, seeing this as another opportunity to socialize, gave a loud whinny back to the dapple and nodded his large head too. Silly horse. Kimmy said while still laughing a little bit and patting his neck.
Kim also halted Monster next to Primo by the pasture. She looked at James as he cleared his throat and asked her if Monster and Primo could be pasture buddies. Then, Primo nudged his big black head into Monster's bay, marking-less one. Monster, playfully pushed the black stallion with his head as well. This, made Kimberly laugh. Yeah, I think we might have to make them pasture buddies or they might die. She looked at James as she chuckled about. words, outfit, whatever you want

James watched as he noticed a slight slouch in Kim's posture, obviously she to was feeling a little down about splitting. With a relieved sigh James chuckled as Monster whinnied back to Venom. James then got a brilliant idea. If he mentioned that Venom was the project horse, maybe Kim would want to look at him nowSTAFF POSITIONS As Monster gave Primo a light nudge back Primo nickered and tossed his mane. At Kim's words about the 17 hand high thoroughbred in the round pen James chuckled and nodded.
A second pair of words passed through her soft looking lips and James was more than happy to listen. As she spoke, her melodic laugh escaped and James couldn't help but laugh along with her as he glanced at the two brutes. James nodded "I'm glad they get along so well, Usually Primo doesn't warm up so quickly" As James words ceased another whinny was erupted from the large dapple a ways down the path and James sighed heavily and let his voice ring over to the pen "Hey Venom knock it off!" With that James turned to Kim again and gestured toward the large dapple "That right there is what we are dealing with .... Meet venom Kim" With that James dismounted and grasped the reins, glancing at the pasture James then moved and braught the reins over primo's head and tied him to the fence, although Primo wouldn't move.

[/div] tearing love apart, As James was telling her that his horse Primo didn't usually warm up to other horses that quickly, it made Kim happy that there was something different or special about her horse that Primo liked better. Obviously Monster was a very friendly stallion and not in the least bit aggressive, usually. He got along well with stallions and mares and geldings as long as they didn't attack him first. Monster behaved around humans but, Kim could always tell if Monster liked someone or not and, he seemed to like James quite well which made Kim happy. He's a handsome horse. Kimberly said in response to James' words which she of course was listening intently to. Seeing that James had dismounted his horse, Kim decided to make the lead down off of her tall horse as well and her feet his the ground with a thump. She wasn't really all that heavy, even though she thought she was sometimes, it was just the jump from such a high place that made the noise. As she was running up Monster's stirrups, she was deciding what to do with him. She didn't really want to use his reins for safety reasons and leaving him standing there, he would probably trip and break a leg over his reins. So, he flipped them back over his head and looped them through the little strap that went across the pommel of the saddle. Stay there, buddy. She told her horse as she patted him on the neck, knowing that he would stand there anyway. Or, maybe he'd walk a few steps and say "Hi" to Primo again. Wanna look at Venom nowSTAFF POSITIONS She asked him, wanting to stay longer with him. She wanted to stay as long as she possibly could. words, outfit, whatever you want

James Knight
[/s] .A horse is only as strong as its Rider. I could live without money I could live without the vain. Smiling as Kim complimented Primo and James nodded to her and gestured toward the large bay "Monster is quite handsome as well" James let his thoughts wander to about how he was going to get the Venom out of his vulgar spin he was in. The large dapple was watching the scene with curious and conniving eyes, Looking for any sense of trouble he could get into. James then looked over his shoulder as Kim dismounted as well and was fixing her saddle. At her words James couldn't help but think she was still a little daring. With a sly grin James held out and arm for her to lead the way "It would be a great idea" James then began to walk toward the pen, when there Venom quickly pinned his ears and raised his head high, making himself seem more larger than he was and for James, It was sort of working. Venom then laid eyes on Kim and let a snort escape his nostrils, his tail raised like that of an Arabian's, His full attention on James and Kim.
