She finally had a steed again. Her previous horse was practically stolen by her mother and sold. After waiting a couple long and boring weeks, a letter from her father had indicated that he'd found her a new horse to continue her quest with.
She strode into the barn, and approached the familiar stall. She'd had the new gelding for a little over a week and a half. They were already getting used to each other. Leah would kill hours riding and taking care of her new baby. She'd only been riding him around casually, but now it was the day when they'd finally get to work.
"Hey Mickey." she purred, reaching her hand inside the bars. The gelding shot his head up and nickered a bit, thinking Leah had a goodie for him in her hand. The girl tickled his lips with her finger. "Let's get this show on the road." she said as she plucked his halter from the hook and went inside. She slid it over his head and led him out.
After brushing him down, and tacking him up, the girl fitted herself with her helmet. The girl took the Warmblood and tugged him behind her. "Door." she called out as she entered the arena. She led the horse over to the mounting block, pulled down her stirrups and mounted...less than gracefully, due to Mickey's massive shoulders.
She readied herself and asked of him to walk on with a little click of her tongue. She made him walk a couple laps, then trot for a few more, warming him up. He was acting a bit jumpy and excited. He was a little bit more exited than usual. Maybe he picked up that Leah was going to try jumping with him.
She turned him, and asked him for a canter. The horse obliged, antering smoothly down the stretch towards the little obstacle. He approached the jump, looking like he was really going to go over, but suddenly slammed on the breaks and lowered his head. Leah, who was already getting up into position, tilted forward and slowly slid down her horse's neck. She then did a somersault and landed right on her ass. But hey, she got over the jump, rightSTAFF POSITIONSThe girl found it hilarious. She smiled as Mickey stared at her, guilt in his eyes. "See, it's not that hard to go over." she told him before rising to her feet.
