OK so Maverick Andenhal is the owner and creator of Hollow Aspen. He has a really long, not entirely happy history behind him, but he also has something else - a brother who is 19, and likes horses. So if you'd like a chance to play Mav's brother, I'll have you do the following (since I am extremely attached to Mav's personality and don't want some flop playing his brother):
- Read his entire history. Maverick's, not the brothers.
- Fill out the relatively simple form, and PM it to me.
OMG THE END.
You are allowed to wiggle his age up or down a few years, and change his name. Which I currently have set at Dimitri, making him Dimitri _____ Andenhal. The majority of his info including Face Claim is up to you if you get him. So... The history.
Maverick Estevan Andenhal was born on August 3rd of 1981 to Royce and Sharon Andenhal. His father owned several large oil companies as well as a few fast food franchises, and two local car dealerships. Oh, and a casino or two. Royce was not a healthy man. He smoked and drank every day basically all day. He was never home as he would go out to the strip club and spend thousands of dollars a night on women. Sharon had the occasional male visitor at the house too. It was almost like Royce and Sharon were not even married - they were just two actors living in a house together. Maverick wasn't exposed to a lot of it until he turned 11. He had been away at boarding school and only seen tidbits of dysfunctional behaviour during the summer months. He worked his ass of, got straight A's, and never once received congratulations from his parents... Which is part of the reason why he rebelled. (The other part was he was bored with the low level of learning he was experiencing, as he was very bright and was above most of what he was being taught.)
He put oil in all of the girls toilets and set them on fire, after plugging all the sinks and turning them on full blast. He threw his entire years worth of schoolwork into two trashbins in the hallway just outside the door and lit them on fire as well. The teachers told Royce and Sharon dismally that because of this - (the bathroom and hallway had irreparable water and fire damage, and they would have to redo the entire floor and dry-wall in the bathroom, as well as part of the floor in the hallway) - Maverick would be expelled. Royce and Sharon were livid, but Royce didn't was the one who said the most. He paid the boarding schools extensive bills and told Maverick he wouldn't send him to school again, it was his own ruddy fault he had lost himself a position in the best school offered "in the whole world" (Mav thought this was unlikely) and basically, Maverick could rot in hell for all Royce was concerned. Sharon cried for days. Maverick would wake up and eat breakfast alone, pack a lunch, and go walking until he was too tired to walk any more. Then he would eat what he had packed, and walk back home. Sharon and Royce' relationship was falling apart. Maverick didn't care. And then suddenly, everything changed again. He was walking a different way one day when he came upon a riding center. There were three large, beautifully kept barns, an indoor arena, and two outdoor rings. He could see at least 6 horses being worked, and upwards of 10 turned out in pastures beyond the riding rings. He was enthralled. He walked meekly in to the yard, where he was quickly spotted by a staff member. "New boy, eh
This made his parents happy for a while, but soon Sharon was heavy with child, Royce was getting older and his heart weaker, and they drifted apart again. Maverick engrossed himself in his horse chores. After 6 months of working at the stables, he was given his first lesson. He learned really fast, and after that, they had him riding their school horses in down months to keep them fit. Eventually, they had him working the tougher horses and starting the babies under saddle. His brother Dimitri was born into a solemn household. They had wanted a daughter; ultrasounds had made it look like Dimitri was a girl... But they'd been wrong. Royce and Sharon fought often and Sharon would sit and cry in the babies room with Dimitri wailing beside her. Maverick went to ride less and less and began to help baby Dimitri. Sharon saw her son in a new light - took an interest in him, for once - and was grateful that he recognized how much she needed help. Sometimes, Maverick would watch Dimitri for hours while Sharon went to counselling. Eventually Dimitri settled down. The colic was over, he had gone through teething, and he was walking and talking. Maverick had been called by his stables many times but didn't return calls or said he was watching his brother. He received a phone call the day after Dimitri's second birthday saying that the stable had gone bankrupt, and everything was being sold. Maverick scrambled to get money together and ran the whole way to the stables, where he saw the horses, looking a little more thin, a little more wary, and a little less happy. He found the stable manager, who was his friend, and offered him way too much to buy Tachy. He was told no; the horse was part of an auction lot that were already claimed by an auction house. Only the weanlings and yearlings were being left behind to be sold. This was better than nothing, as he had helped foal out and halter train many of the yearlings the previous year. He saw one right away that he remembered being a total little shit, and he said he'd take her. The stable manager and he said his goodbyes as Maverick - aged 14 - called around and found people willing to help him set up a pasture in his yard. He bought hay and grain, saddles, bridles, halters... Everything he would need for his new horse.
He worked the filly from the ground up, starting fresh with her. He would spend a few hours with her in the morning, homeschool in the afternoon for a few hours, spend the rest of the day with Dimitri (diapers, feeding, bathing, putting him to bed) and then would go and spend more time with his filly. Years passed. Dimitri took up less and less time as he entered school and Sharon found herself able to cope with everything. Royce simply didn't come home anymore, but he paid his bills. Dimitri was sent to the same boarding school that Maverick had gone to. Maverick spent his days doing school work and riding his filly. Maverick moved to Colorado when he was 21 and took Equine Reproduction and other Equine courses at CSU. At age 25 he started a 4 year undergraduate in Education. He thought he'd like to be a teacher, so he could find the kids that had been like him, and let them know it's OK. He'd learned to joke and make light of everything. After a year of his undergrad degree, he got a phone call saying his dad had had a massive heart attack, and died. Sharon sounded almost relieved. Maverick was emotionless; numb. He hadn't loved his father, but he HAD been his father. A 14 year old Dimitri cried to Maverick for an hour about how he missed his dad.
Three weeks later Maverick received a ridiculously large inheritance payment in the mail, plus the titles to several of his fathers companies. Some of them were being sold, and the rest would go to Dimitri when he came of age. In the mean time, Royce had delegated people to take over those companies for set salaries until Dimitri came of age. He had been very thorough. Maverick was extremely grateful and felt guilty for not getting to know his father better. It stil haunts him to this day, wondering if trying to know him would've made a difference in their relationship... He had plans made up for Hollow Aspen and had it built while he completed his schooling. The first year it was open he ran it from outside of Canada. He is now residing on the grounds, overseeing everything... Seeing if he can help kids that look troubled, just like he was.

" The words confused him but he quickly snatched the chance to be the new boy, and lied swiftly, telling the man he was 14. The man gave him a wheelbarrow and pick, and he got to work. After he finished (he had done a mighty fine job too, considering he'd never so much as touched a horse before) he was taken to the ring and told to offer to handwalk the horses when their riders were finished. Only one took him up on it. He will always remember that horse; a tall black gelding by the name of Tachycardia, or Tachy. He walked home that night to find his parents positively beaming. He was really confused, and really smelly. Then they told him - they were expecting another baby. This made his parents happy for a while, but soon Sharon was heavy with child, Royce was getting older and his heart weaker, and they drifted apart again.
