Normally, I don't listen to PETA or post such things, but I feel strongly about horse slaughter being discontinued.

I'm not anti-horse slaughter, I'm anti-horse slaughter methods. Horses are livestock in a lot of places and the way I look at it, some countries go, "what the fuck, Americans eat cows STAFF POSITIONS " the same way a lot of us go, "what the fuck, Chinese eat dogs STAFF POSITIONS " or, "what the fuck, people eat horse meat, period STAFF POSITIONS " While I don't have a problem with slaughter itself per se I do not condone the methods with which a lot of animals are slaughtered. It's inhumane and there IS suffering before the animal finally dies. This goes for a lot of animals but obviously with horses it's closer to my heart. When it was illegal in the USA they were transporting them on double decker stock trailers to Mexico. They lived in their own body waste, had little if anything to eat/drink, and lots would sustain injury. Many died from starvation, dehydration, or bled out/succumbed to the severity of said injuries. With Obama legalizing it in the USA, he saved a lot of horses that experience. They were still bound for slaughter, but they had to go through a lot less suffering. Again if they just had a quick shot to the head horse slaughter would be so much easier to swallow for me. Or if they could just manage to, you know, feed and water them and keep them in decent enclosures and have some RESPECT for them as living beings before they killed them.... That's just my perspective. And truthfully, as an avid meatatarian, if someone put a horse steak in front of me, I would probably try it. If you want to get me really riled up about something, let's talk about SHARK and their anti-rodeo videos....
