ONE:
When you are posting images here at HA it is important we have the right to use those images. Your horses images must be under the Creative Commons license and if necessary have credit on the image to the photographer. I will be checking to make sure you have followed the appropriate steps to make sure the image you are using is alright for you to use. There are some really great places that offer CC images that we can all use and enjoy without worries of copyright infringement. One is www.deviantart.com -- search "stock" and make sure you read each users individual rules for their stock, some may want you to ask permission before using the image, some may want credit on the image, and some don't care either way. Also check out www.flickr.com/creativecommons, all images are free to use though some users again may want credit on the image, may already have their copyright on the image, and some probably don't care either way.
-------------------------
TWO:
Do not stretch our boards with your images. That goes for avatars, header images, and images in your scrapbooks etcetera. If the image stretches the board, I recommend going to www.imageshack.us and resizing it as you upload it. Resizing it to 640x480 (for message boards) is the perfect size for our forum. If I find images stretching our forum I will remove them and not inform you. You've been warned officially.
-------------------------
THREE:
I will not install the code that stops images from stretching the boards. My reason for this is because of personal experience. When you post an image that is a link, and it is too big and reduced even by 1%, you cannot click on it to get to wherever the link lead to. Clicking on it only expands it in a new window which is very unfortunate for people who are advertising. If an advertisement stretches the board a little bit I won't mind. If an advertisement stretches the board A LOT, I'll just remove it.
-------------------------
FOUR:
These rules are NON NEGOTIABLE because if you don't follow them, you and I could get in very big trouble and HA could get shut down. I will do my best to keep my eyes open for copyright infringements and deal with them myself. If I see any copyright infringements/board stretching I will remove the image without warning, unless the infringement is a serious one - that could result in temporary or permanent ban. Think before you act!
ALSO, if the person reading this is someone who has found their image used here without permission, please contact me at rileydagley@live.com and it will be removed promptly without question.
